Jumble sale joy.

Hello lovely readers!

Last week I went out for breakfast with my family. YUM. Then we went round a few shops, and as we went into Wilkinsons, I saw something that made my heart leap with joy. They had a jumble sale! And let me tell you, I cannot resist a bargain. It was so cool and exciting. I’d never known Wilko’s to put on a jumble sale before, but there it was at the front of the shop; tables of ‘nearly new’ clothes, toys, home ware and more. I believe it was to raise money for a charity- I can’t remember which. Of course, I headed straight for the makeup section. After rifling through the basket a while, I came across 3 items I liked the look of and I thought I’d try. At £1 per item, it was a steal!

I bought two nail varnishes and one eye product.

Sally Hansen Luxe Lace

820 Crochet.

Retail price$5.99 I think (£3.88)

Sale price- £1.00

This can be used as a top coat or on its own. Needs 1-2 layers.

Here, I have used it on top of a light blue MUA varnish, but you could use it with many different colours.

I also used my new Sally Hansen ‘Double Duty, top and base coat’ to protect my nails and smooth it on top. I’d actually never heard of Sally Hansen before, (I think its an American brand,) but I like it 🙂

I love the blue and white confetti style; it almost looks like water droplets on my nails.

The only downside is that it takes a while to apply if its gonna look good. It also takes quite a long time to dry.

I also got one in black.

Sally Hansen Luxe Lace

840 Ruffle

Retail price$5.99  (£3.88)

Sale price- £1.00

This is the same as the blue one, but has black speckles.

It looks a bit more like lace and could be used with most colours, except really dark ones.

My final purchase.

‘Field Day eye shadow pencil’ by Collection

Golden sun 2.

Retail price- £3.19

Sale price- £1.00

It’s a shimmery gold and has a fairly soft, creamy texture.

The pencil makes it easy to apply.

It looked nice on my hand^ but it can be quite pigmented and bold on the eyelid.

Because of this, I tend to mix it with other colours to get a nice blended finish, with gold undertones.

Or I might just use it to highlight the corners of my eyes.

Overall, I wasn’t that impressed and probably wouldn’t recommend it too highly.

I didn’t mange to get any of them loads cheaper that the original prices, but a deals still a deal right? And even though I wasn’t too keen on the eye show pencil, I’m liking the nail varnishes. 2 out of 3 isn’t bad!

I hope you liked this post.

Let me know if you’ve tried these products and what you think of them. 🙂
